Here are 5 Disney+ Hotstar movies, you must watch as a family(with kids):
1. TOGO: The Untold True story
*Alert* Don’t miss watching this emotional true story, you’ll applaud every character here.
Once you realize that it is a true story, you’ll feel more amazed at the sequence of events and the emotional connection featured here.
Set in the winters, a dogsled trainer (Willian Dafoe) and his lead sled dog, Togo, embark on a humane journey across the miles to a small town of Alaska to transport an antitoxin serum, to help children who have been dying due to diphtheria outbreak. Journey across the miles, in the wintery chills, cannot be that easy. The scene of run across the cracking ice is simply stupendous and simply unbelievable to see.
I saw myself in tears, looking at the bonding during the closing scenes. Willem Dafoe has proved himself to be a great actor and I don’t have words to praise Togo. I wish I could hug him some time. The story is very simple, but the scenes, performances, thrills, and amazing cinematography sets a great time for the family!
Tears might flow, be ready for it, but don’t miss watching TOGO.

2. Onward:
Sibling Love, Magic, adventure, top-notch animation, and emotional drama are what you can expect from this heartwarming movie of two brothers. Ian and Barley, two elves, live with their mother in a fantasy world. Just before Ian’s birthday, the elves get a wizard that can bring their dead father back for 24 hours.
They start this journey which is full of love, emotions, frantic actions, and adventure.
Though the story is predictable, the whole story is woven beautifully, which makes you watch the movie in one go. Since it’s a Disney movie, their use of fantasy elements like Dragons Universe and Dungeons creates a special charm for children.

The next three movies are for nature and animal lovers and for those who want to witness the brilliance of film-makers! The experience of watching these three films, simply made us fall in love with the wild all the more. It was an educative experience for my boy too.
3. Penguins:
Disneynature’s production has always been very close to our hearts.
*Alert* There is cuteness overloaded in this Disney original and you’ll appreciate the way it has been produced.
This movie shows the life of Steve, an Adélie penguin’s breeding journey, from its oceanic habitat to the breeding grounds, which is not an uneasy ride. Struggling to live (when there are predators like leopard seals, killer whales) and make a life for himself, this movie is a great opportunity to watch as a family and know more about adorable Penguins.

4. Penguins: Life on the Edge
Along with Penguins, I’ll also recommend you to watch the documentary of Penguins: Life on the Edge. Watching the daring scene of the crew landing on cracking sea ice to capture the killer whales as they hunt penguins in the water, gives you cold shivers. You’re transported to the serene world of Ross Island, Antarctica to witness the daring acts of cinematographers from around the world, to capture the life of Penguins.
How harsh climate and the conditions can be, when the temperature dip to -40degrees, when the winds with the strength of hurricane hit them, you will be left with praises on their struggles to capture the beauty of wildlife and nature (without interfering them). It’s a behind the lens story that you’ll certainly love watching it.

5. Into the Okavango:
Another documentary that we loved is Into the Okavango. Okavango Delta is a majestic World Heritage site that is home to the largest population of Wild African Elephants, and also home to Lions, Cheetah and more. This delta surrounded on all four sides by the desert is largely unexplored and has been threatened by the illegal human activities.
Dr. Steve Boyes (an ornithologist) teams up and starts an expedition of around four months. The whole crew starts their mission by a canoe, but very soon in the start nature tests their endurance, as the river in which they were canoeing becomes such a tiny stream, that they cannot row their boats. After eight grueling days, the river once again becomes passable.
Their encounters with strangers and tribal people, with the large bites of incredible wildlife and nature photography, it looks like a real life-sized movie, which ports you into the heavenly wilderness. For wildlife and adventure lovers, it is a documentary not to be missed!
