Different ways to prepare Apple Cinnamon tea
And I’m back to sharing my next Healthy Detox drink, Apple Cinnamon Tea! I’ve been sharing some of my detox drinks and you can find the posts here:

Cinnamon, an aromatic condiment is obtained from the bark of several trees in the genus Cinnamon. Originating in the Indian and Srilankan region, we’re all aware of its little woody, citrusy, and spicy flavor. It is this flavor that makes this tea very refreshing for me.
The name says it all! Apple Cinnamon Tea is made in different ways, but the major ingredients are fresh or dried apples and cinnamon (sticks/powder). Here, I need to mention that I use Ceylon cinnamon sticks, as it is the healthiest one. Ceylon Cinnamon contains a much lesser percentage of coumarin. Higher levels of this compound, Coumarin, in few pieces of research have been associated with increased risk of bleeding and reduction in liver functioning. Hence, I’ve always opted for Ceylon Cinnamon.

Benefits of Apple Cinnamon Tea:
Apple and cinnamon, both are well known for their health effects, and when combined, its health benefits increase manifolds.
- Antioxidants and antibacterial: Apple Cinnamon Tea is loaded with antioxidants and acts as a natural immunity booster. Compounds found in this tea have been proven effective to fight bacterias.
- Cough and Cold: One of the reasons, why I consume this tea during seasonal changes and as the winter approaches! It certainly helps relieve the sore throat and gives comfort during winters
- Reduces menstrual cramps: Personally, this tea helps me relieve the painful cramps during my periods. It also elevates my mood and lessens up the feeling of nausea.
- Rich in dietary fiber: With an apple, which is rich in dietary fiber, this drink works well to boost up the digestive system improves bowel movement, hence it is good if you have constipation.
- Weight Loss: Cinnamon and Apple cinnamon tea has often been touted to help promote #weightloss. Though I consume it, but not daily, and as always, I would say that no drink is a miracle drink when it comes to weight loss. There is a lot more research required to prove its efficacy in fat loss. All I would suggest is to work on a #healthylifestyle , workout regularly, and consume Apple cinnamon tea/detox drinks I’ve shared in this series!
This tea has many other benefits too wrt a few chronic diseases, like reducing Blood sugar and more! But for any underlying medical conditions, it is always recommended to consult your doctor for any addition to your diet.
How to make Apple Cinnamon Tea?
A) Without adding any kind of tea:
Ingredients: For one glass
- 1 stick of Ceylon cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- 1/2 apple (medium-sized)
Method:
- Add Cinnamon stick and cloves to the water.
- Boil it to extract the flavors for 2-3 mins and then strain it.
- Add fresh apple juice: chop an apple, and add it to the boiling water. Allow it to boil for around 8-10 minutes till the water is infused with apple flavor.
- Remove the apple chunks and add this water to the already prepared cinnamon water.
- Allow it to come at room temperature or you can also consume hot.
- Add some fresh lime juice and a spoon of honey
Your flavourful Apple Cinnamon Tea is ready!
B) Antioxidant-rich, with green/oolong tea
You can also enrich the Apple Cinnamon Tea in the method shared above with black, green, or oolong green tea. This would make it super rich in antioxidants.
Ingredients: For one glass of Apple Cinnamon Tea
- 1 stick of Ceylon cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- 1/2 apple (medium-sized)
- 1 Green/oolong tea sachet
Method:
- Add Cinnamon stick and cloves to the water.
- Boil it to extract the flavors for 2-3 mins and then strain it.
- Add fresh apple juice: chop an apple, and add it to the boiling water. Allow it to boil for around 8-10 minutes till the water gets infused with apple flavor.
- Remove the apple chunks and add this water to the already prepared cinnamon water.
- Now add your green tea sachet to cinnamon apple juice and allow it to boil for 1-2minutes.
- Allow it to come at room temperature or you can also consume hot.
- Add some fresh lime juice and a spoon of honey.
Your flavourful Apple Cinnamon Tea (enriched with green tea) is ready!
